Duffy's Town Building 'Rental' and Restoration Program

Formed in 1974 by Community Leaders, the HDSA is dedicated to providing law-enforcement safety and training to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. As part of that effort, the HDSA built an actual city street complete with buildings and storefronts for simulated urban law-enforcement training exercises. In 1991 this facility, part of the Miramar Tactical Training Facility, we re-named Duffy's Town in honor of John Duffy, Sheriff of San Diego County from 1971 to 1991.

The HDSA maintains the Miramar Tactical Training Facility solely through the generous contributions of it's over 600 members, and local companies and organizations.

Since its inception in 1974, the Duffy's Town facility has provided state-of-the-art training to over 600,000 law enforcement personnel from San Diego County and all over the country. It is truly a one-of-a-kind asset to San Diego and neighboring communities.

Now is your chance to support this facility, and let law-enforcement personnel know your company supports them!

There are currently 18 buildings/store fronts in Duffy's Town. For up to $2000 per year you can 'rent' one of these building's, with your company name prominently displayed on a sign placed on the building. This offer is being made only to a select few local companies. The best part is - you know your donation is going directly to the Deputy's to benefit and expand their training. The community as a whole benefits as well.

Here is exactly how your 'rent' payment will be used, and what you will receive:

  • Your building/storefront will be painted in the color of your choosing
  • Doors, windows and other hardware, where applicable, will be maintained in working order
  • A building sign, painted with your company logo or graphic, will be hung or mounted on the building front.
  • The building, paint, hardware, and your sign will be maintained throughout the term of your 'rental' period.
  • Exposure to over 50,000 law-enforcement personnel who will see your message and know that you support them.
  • Lastly, since the HDSA is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization, your 'rent' payment is a tax-deductible donation.
